Ecohelix´s wood-based heat seal coating solution, WOODMER® Seal was a double winner in Packnorth Awards 2025! WOODMER Seal won the Bio-based Packaging category and received also Nordic Bioplastics Association’s Special Prize.
WOODMER is an interesting, bio-based closure material for heat sealing with good barrier properties against moisture and grease. It is based on residual products from the forest. An innovative solution that Ecohelix is the first to offer. The material replaces plastic and reduces emissions. The material has been developed with biomimetics, an innovation method where nature’s forms and processes are imitated. The jury is positive towards new material solutions that develop the bio-based industry.
